Tofu is eaten everywhere in Nigeria, but it's mostly linked with the northern part.

Here's a recipe from my chef friend. It uses natural coagulation for the Awara and fresh veggies for the pepper sauce. No artificial stuff added!

Ingredients needed on how to make Awara with soya beans:

(1). 9 cups of soybeans

(2). Salt (as much as enough)

(3). 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

For the pepper sauce:

(1). 6 scotch bonnets (chopped finely)

(2). 1 small onion (chopped)

(3). 1 spring onion (chopped)

(4). Salt (as much as you like)

If you like

(5). 1 small cucumber (chopped)

How to make Awara (Instructions)

1. Soak the soya beans for 4 hours.

2. Grind the soaked soya beans and strain using a fine sieve to remove bits.

3. Boil the soya beans juice and add lemon juice or tamarind while boiling to make it thicken.

4. Scoop out the thickened part and put it in a cloth sieve. Add salt and tie it tightly. Put something heavy on top to press out water. It'll take a few hours to drain.

5. Untie the sieve and cut the Awara into shapes.

6. Fry the Awara until it's light brown.

7. Make a pepper sauce by frying onions, peppers, and spring onions together. Add salt.

8. Add the fried Awara to the sauce and mix well. Sprinkle chopped cucumber on top.

9. Serve while hot or warm and enjoy!

Nutrition of Awara (Tofu)

Awara or tofu, which made from soya  sap. Is a food that is rich in protein, which helps our bodies grow and stay healthy. It also has important nutrients like calcium and iron, which keep our bones strong and help our blood carry oxygen.   The pepper sauce in this dish adds flavor and some  redundant nutrients too. Peppers and onions have vitamins that help our bodies work  duly. They also have fiber, which is good for our digestion.   When we fry the tofu in vegetable  oil painting, it gives the dish some  redundant flavor, but it also adds calories, which give us energy. But we do not want to eat too  important  oil painting because it can be unhealthy.   Adding cucumber to the dish gives it a fresh taste and adds  further vitamins and water, which help keep our bodies doused  and healthy.   So, overall, this dish can be a good choice because it has protein, vitamins, and minerals that our bodies need to stay strong and healthy. But it's important to enjoy it in  temperance and as part of a balanced diet with other  nutritional foods.
